The OPPORTUNITY

We’re on the lookout for twelve motivated, hands-on people to join our McDonald’s maintenance team across our restaurants in Gore, Invercargill and Queenstown.This is a busy, active role with real variety — you’ll be the person our restaurants rely on to look their best, operate at their highest standards, and provide a safe and welcoming environment for customers and team alike. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:- Maintaining the full restaurant environment inside and out — dining room, toilets, windows, Playland, party rooms, carpark, patio and all exterior areas
- Completing planned maintenance on equipment including grills, vats and floors, ensuring everything is clean, calibrated and in good working order
- Keeping the exterior looking sharp — bins, gardens, kerbs, signage, drive thru lane, furniture and flags
- Organising and maintaining back-of-house areas including the corral and staff facilities
- Managing operating supplies and carrying out general maintenance tasks as directed by the management team
- Using chemicals safely and correctly in line with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Identifying hazards, completing the Hazard Log, and following all workplace health and safety procedures

We’re looking for people who:- Are energetic, reliable and genuinely customer focused
- Have flexible, anytime availability — including early starts, evenings, nights and weekends
- Bring a practical, can-do attitude and aren’t afraid to get stuck in
- Have a background in maintenance, cleaning, facilities or a trade (helpful but not essential — full training provided)
- Are great team players who take responsibility for their own growth and development

$25.25 – $27.00 per hour depending on experience, with a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week.
LOCATION
This role is based across our restaurants in Gore, Invercargill, Queenstown and Wanaka, with travel and work required across all Southland and Otago locations.
