Carpenter - Timaru
Are you a skilled carpenter looking to apply your expertise in a dynamic, outdoor, earthmoving environment?
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Carpenter to join our team and play a key role in supporting civil construction and earthworks projects across South Canterbury.
About the Role
In this role, you will support our earthmoving operations by delivering high-quality carpentry work for civil infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside machine operators, site supervisors, and project managers to construct and maintain a range of temporary and permanent structures essential to earthworks and construction.
Guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities- Construct and install formwork, framing, retaining structures, and concrete boxing
- Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans
- Collaborate with site teams to support efficient and safe project delivery
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment confidently
- Assist with general construction or labouring tasks as required
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you are reliable, safety-minded, and enjoy working outdoors on a variety of civil and earthmoving projects.
We’re looking for someone with:- At least 3+ years carpentry experience (earthmoving/civil experience an advantage)
- A relevant trade qualification or proven industry experience
- Strong practical skills and the ability to work independently
- Good understanding of construction and site safety requirements
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider site team
- A full New Zealand driver licence (WTR or Class 2+ helpful but not essential)
