Panel Beater & Vehicle painter

We are looking for an experienced Panel Beater and a Spray Painter to join our team in the Automann panel & paint shop.

As a spray Painter you will be expected to:

• Applying primers and repainting surfaces with the use of spray guns.
• Carrying out painting in the booth oven.
• Using materials such as lacquer, resin, and so on to paint surfaces of vehicle units.
• Polishing the car by wet-sanding and buffing when the paint is dried.
• Performing final finishing and polishing.
• Properly maintaining the paint booth by replacing filters and fan belts when necessary
• Paint prep, application and touch ups to ensure high quality finishes.

As a Panel Beater you will be expected to:

• Accident/collision and rust repairs.
• Carrying out inspections on bodywork and frames of vehicles to assess extent of damage, assessing if certain parts of the vehicle need to be replaced, protected, or sanded.
• Disassembling damaged vehicle parts.
• Straightening and aligning car frames and unibodies.
• Reassembling vehicle body parts and accessories.
• Replacing or repairing windows, car interiors and exterior trim.
• Repairing scratches, dents and other damage to bodywork and replacing any parts that cannot be repaired.
• Filling and sanding bodywork.
• Getting rid of dirt or grease from vehicle surfaces and ensuring that the vehicle is well prepared and ready for painting

A minimum of two years' experience as a Panel Beater (Collision Repair Technician) and Spray Painter, together with a relevant qualification in panel beating/collision repair.

A good eye for detail, an eagerness to get the job done right and a passion for the trade.
