**Here is what you can expect from this role:**- Get involved in discussions and initiatives to improve Trade Me's data platforms.
- Work with data-aligned experts across Trade Me to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
- Contribute to selecting, designing, building, testing and operating the technical systems that transport and transform Trade Me's data
- Help implement and operate scalable data pipelines and systems
- Tertiary qualification with a degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar digital sector
- Experience working in an application or product environment that requires good communication with wider stakeholders and forethought and consideration of other subsystems
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with both relational and non-relational databases
- ETL experience
- Understanding of cloud architecture concerns
- Have experience with modern ETL tools
- Speak SQL fluently, and comfortable using Python
- Have deep knowledge and experience with databases and building data warehouses
- Are experienced in building cloud-based data solutions, AWS, GCP or Snowflake
- Have experience with modern BI tools, like PowerBI
- Has an analytical mindset and some analytical experience
- Modern commercial software development skills, experience building distributed systems, and solid cloud ops skills
- Highly collaborative with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to form professional relationships with people of differing levels and specialisations
- Ability to promote data best practices across a company in a compelling way
- Curiosity, and a desire to maximise the value of our data to both internal and external consumers.
