As a **Kitchen Assistant**, you will support the delivery of high-quality catering services at **Wairarapa Hospital** during weekends. You’ll help prepare and serve meals, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure patients receive safe, nutritious food in a professional healthcare environment.This is a **Permanent position with 14 hours guaranteed per week.**
Ko o kawenga | Your responsibilities- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating meals in line with dietary and food safety requirements.
- Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and equipment cleaning.
- Deliver friendly and professional service while supporting patient meal requirements.
- Follow hospital food safety, infection control, and hygiene practices at all times.
- Support stock handling, replenishment, and adherence to operational procedures.
- Experience in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality role (preferred but not essential).
- A reliable and hardworking team player who can also work independently.
- Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks in a busy environment.
- Strong communication skills with a positive, caring attitude.
