Permit Issuer (Casual)

As a Permit Issuer, you’ll be responsible for administering the Permit To Work system and ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with project requirements. You’ll work closely with supervisors, contractors, and site teams to confirm controls are in place before work begins.

This is a practical, people-focused role that suits someone who is confident, organised, and comfortable working in a dynamic project environment.

• Issue, review, and close out permits for daily site activities
• Verify that required controls and isolations are in place
• Maintain accurate permit records and documentation
• Liaise with supervisors, contractors, and project teams
• Support safe work practices and compliance with site procedures
• Assist with general site administration as required

• Previous experience with a permit-to-work system (preferred)
• Current permit-issuing certification is an advantage, but refresher training can be provided for the right candidate
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety risks
• Good communication skills and a practical, common-sense approach
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
• Experience in construction, engineering, or H&S is an advantage

• Location: Timaru/Temuka
• Type: Fixed term (May-August)
• Hours: Primarily evening shifts (6pm - 6am), with some Saturday day work as required.
• Start: May (specific date TBC)
• Hourly Rate: Hourly rate will be set according to your experience and the skills you bring to the role.
