Duty Manager

A busy restaurant in Auckland is looking for the right candidate to fill the duty manager role.

• ability to work competently under pressure

• willingness to work long hours
• proven knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine.
• Two years of experience in duty manager role OR minimum Level 5 diploma in Business Management or related fields gained in New Zealand or Australia (Satisfying requirement for experience or qualification NOT both)

• planning menus in consultation with Chefs
• planning and organising special functions
• arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
• maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
• ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and ofsuitable appearance
• conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
• selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff
• may take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders
• Oversee daily operations, maintaining seamless service and engaged, motivatedteams
• Deliver premium, guest-centric service that surprises and delights
• Maintain the highest hygiene, safety, and compliance standards using Safe Food Proand Vault
• Support onboarding, training, and ongoing team development and performance
• Advising and assisting the owner to recruit and train staff.
• Preparing and managing budgets.
• Creating staffing rotas.
• Planning menus.
• Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation.
• Promoting and marketing the business.
• Overseeing stock levels and ordering supplies.
• Handling customer enquiries and complaints.
• Taking reservations.
• Greeting and advising customers.

• Full-time permanent role, at least 30 hours/week
• Starting wage (Minimum wage) $27/hour
• Maximum wage $29/hour
