About the Role
Have you ever thought of working in a commercial kitchen?Join our dedicated and hard-working WellFood Department and help feed our turoro (patients) and whanau.
Our retail cookery kapa (team) are responsible for ensuring that the needs of our turoro (patients) are met to the highest standard. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of. You will be responsible for maintaining and adhering to our Food Control Plan, Te Whatu Ora code of conduct and Health and Safety procedures.
Salary - Starting rate $28.40 per hour. Based on the E tu Service and Food Workers collective agreement
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out general cooking and kitchen duties.
- Working within the retail cookery team, providing food for the Burwood campus caf s
- Hot and cold cookery, baking, function catering
- Adherence to the food control plan
- Carrying out general cleaning duties.
- Exceptional skill and passion for large-scale cookery
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to maintain speed without compromising standards
- A fast learner who can pick up new skills quickly
- Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous
