Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator who is proficient in using GPS technology to operate heavy machinery with precision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in excavation operations, including experience with modern GPS-based equipment, and will be comfortable working on a variety of projects.

As part of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that excavation work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform excavation, grading, and trenching operations for a variety of construction projects.
  • Utilize GPS equipment to ensure accuracy and precision in excavation work, including site preparation and earthmoving.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and site layouts to determine excavation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other crew members, site supervisors, and project managers to ensure smooth project progress and on-time completion.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work performed and hours worked.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Excavator Operator.
  • Proven experience operating excavators equipped with GPS technology (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Topcon).
  • Strong knowledge of excavation techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Excavator Operation or related trade.
  • Experience with a variety of excavation equipment and tools.
  • Experience with machine control systems and automated grading technology.
