Green Valley Gardening is a boutique gardening company based in Lower Hutt, known for maintaining stunning gardens across the Hutt Valley and Wellington region. We use high-quality hand and battery-powered tools and prefer organic sprays where possible, ensuring safety for our employees and the environment.

The Role:

We're looking for an experienced gardener with leadership skills to run a maintenance team while mentoring apprentices and team members. You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing and maintaining regular gardens across the Hutt Valley and Wellington
• Trimming, pruning, weeding, spraying, mulching, water blasting, leaf blowing and planting.
• Using our scheduling app to plan and complete weekly maintenance jobs without supervision
• Leading and supporting team members and apprentices while working collaboratively with the wider team
• Maintenance of tools and vehicle to ensure safe and efficient operation

• Full-time role (Monday-Friday)
• Competitive pay: $30-$35 per hour, based on experience

Who We’re Looking For:

• Qualified – Horticulture qualification + five years of professional gardening experience
• Experienced – You’ve run your own maintenance jobs and have excellent plant and pest ID skills
• Skilled – Confident using hedge trimmers and ladders
• Reliable – Honest, hardworking, and highly organised
• Passionate – You love sustainability, the environment, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Team-focused – A positive person who enjoys mentoring and working with others
• Licensed – Full driver’s license required
