Press Brake Operator – Industry Leading Manufacturer | Lower Hutt

Our client is a well-established and industry-leading business, delivering world-class manufacturing and engineering services from two state-of-the-art facilities in Lower Hutt.

With some of New Zealand’s best-equipped workshops, they proudly supply global clients across a diverse range of industries — from high-volume construction hardware to precision aerospace assemblies.

All operations are managed in-house, from raw materials and prototype design to sheet metal manufacturing, CNC operations, and final product delivery. This vertical integration gives them a unique and competitive edge.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Operator to join their talented team.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Lower Hutt. 40 hours per week

This position suits a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail. You’ll be responsible for programming and setting up the press brake machine, overseeing workflow, and ensuring production meets the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain press brake machinery
  • Program and set up machines to meet production requirements
  • Monitor workflows and identify/report any issues
  • Carry out general workshop duties including packing, QA, and inwards goods
  • Manage consumable stock for your station
  • Meet tight production deadlines with consistent quality
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating press brake machinery
  • TRUMPF experience highly regarded (not essential)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and computer literacy
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and client specifications
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Physically fit with a proactive and adaptable approach
  • Reliable, positive, and a strong team player
  • Broad knowledge of materials used in manufacturing
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve
What’s On Offer

  • $33 to 40 per hour dependant on skills and experience
